My name is Peter - also know as Picnic Pete.
I have been looking after people's web sites since 2002, and I would like to look after yours too!
I don't work for a big corporation. I work by myself in my home office. It's efficient, low-carbon, and low-cost.
(Downside: I'm a bit lonely sometimes...)
- I am a technical guy. I understand the delegation, DNS, http, SSL, IP addresses and all those other acronyms. I know how it all works.
- As you can see by this page - I am not a grahic artist!! Bring your own artwork or I'll help you find an artist.
- I run this by myself. You will talk directly to me. No middle man. No salesman.
- You don't have to know anything technical. That's my job.
- I will handle everything required to make the site work, either doing it myself or arranging for it to be done. You don't have to talk to anyone else.
- This service is intended for Australian clients, although it could be used internationally.
- Websites are hosted in Sydney, Australia.
My fee is $400 per year to look after both your web site AND your email. For this you get:
- I will organise and pay for your domain name registration
- I will setup all the codes and things necessary to make the website and email work.
- I will make backups of website files, databases, and emails.
- Your website will be continuously monitored, so I will be aware of any problems before your customers are.
- I will be available for support. Email or phone me if you have any queries.
I can individually taylor extra features to your requirements, such as:
- Two domain names pointing to the same web site (eg XYZ.com and XYZ.com.au)
- websites that allow your customers to do some things in a self-serve way
- Multiple web servers for the one site, allowing for more throughput or fault tollerance.
Web Site Features
- Fast loading pages. Good technical design, and hosting in Australia. Try the speed of this website, for example.
- You can update the text of your pages, or leave it to me.
Email Features
- Email addresses such as YourName@YourDomain.com
- As many addresses as you need.
- You can read the email online, or download it to your PC, or have it redirected to your existing email address. Or any combination of those...
- Also, each email is copied onto a separate server as it arrives, so you will have a backup if ever your emails are lost.
